Job description

Hi, we’re TechnologyAdvice.

At TechnologyAdvice, we pride ourselves on helping B2B tech buyers manage the complexity and risk of the buying process. We are a trusted source of information for tech buyers, delivering advice and facilitating connections between our buyers and the world’s leading sellers of business technology.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, we are a remote-first company with more than 20 digital publications and over 500 global team members in the US, UK, Singapore, Australia, and the Philippines. We’re proud to have been repeatedly recognized as one of America’s fastest growing private companies by Inc., as well as a Tennessee top workplace. We work hard each day and have fun, too, with monthly virtual events, recreational slack channels, and the occasional costumed dance from our CEO.

All positions are open to remote work unless otherwise specified in the requirements below.

The opportunity

As the Senior Business Intelligence Manager, you will lead a team of analysts and data engineers responsible for delivering scalable data solutions and insights that empower our business teams to make data-driven decisions. In this role, you’ll manage data workflows, pipelines, and reporting solutions that directly impact business performance. You will be responsible for the strategy, execution, and optimization of BI initiatives, ensuring high standards of data quality, governance, and usability.

Your work will be instrumental in enabling robust data engineering practices, self-service analytics capabilities, and operational excellence.

Location: United States

What you'll do
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of BI analysts and data engineers to deliver impactful analytics and data engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align BI and data engineering strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and frameworks for processing and analyzing data.
  • Drive self-service analytics by building and maintaining robust data models, tools, and reporting systems using platforms like DBT, Tableau, Looker, and SQL.
  • Establish and enforce data quality, accuracy, and governance standards across data engineering and BI initiatives.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify critical data problems and develop scalable, data-driven solutions.
  • Oversee data architecture, ensuring efficient data warehousing and system integrations.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing priorities, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Proactively address critical deadlines and high-impact challenges through hands-on technical contributions.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members and business partners to maximize the value of data engineering and BI solutions.

Who you are
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams in data engineering, analytics, or technical roles, including coordinating with contractors and global team members.
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in data engineering tools and frameworks, including SQL, DBT (Data Build Tool), and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, modeling, and pipeline best practices, including cloud-based data warehousing (e.g., AWS Redshift, BigQuery, or similar platforms).
  • Experience working with audience data, including tools like Google Tag Manager and GA4.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize data workflows and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI for visualization and reporting.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and platforms like GitHub for collaborative development and process automation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A driven, self-starter mentality, thriving in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • A strategic thinker with a passion for building data solutions that drive measurable business impact.
