Position Description:

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Product Management to join the Data Center Power & Control Division. This is a REMOTE position reporting to the General Manager. This role will manage all aspects of the business product lines including strategic planning, new product development, existing product management, and ensuring integrated solutions are included with a consistent design and marketing message. The Director of Product Management as the leader of the function, is responsible for balancing the team’s day-to-day management of the product line with medium-long-term strategic planning.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Serve as business expert and champion as it relates to products and roadmap and provide leadership, guidance, and development to accomplish overall business objectives.
  • Manage product coordination between engineering, marketing communications, and sales.
  • Manage the overall NPD process. Ensure all products meet or exceed the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) goals.
  • Own product line strategy and roadmap development. Solicit and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and market data.
  • Lead development of product marketing plans including product launches, technical documentation, demonstrations, and sales programs.
  • Manage overall positioning and pricing for the category.
  • Act as category evangelist to ensure the success of new products.
  • Responsible for competitive market evaluation and relative position comparison.
  • Work with engineering to write and publish technical white papers as appropriate.
  • Provide training and/or training programs to inside Customer Support & Sales.
  • Assist Marcomm in creating outside training materials.
  • Support due diligence, as assigned, for inorganic opportunities to grow the product line.
  • Work remotely with the ability to travel approximately 25 percent of the time
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required Skills

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field, MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant product management experience in a related product category or industry is required.
  • Experience with the data center industry is strongly preferred.
  • B2B product management experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Thermal management is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time is required.
  • Strategic planning experience in a multi-product solution environment is required.
  • New product development and product life cycle expertise is required.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to think at both a strategic and tactical level and must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas.
  • Requires excellent project management, organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be meticulous and able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to manage effectively in a matrix organization, influence and negotiate across boundaries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and conflict-resolution skills are required.
  • Must have the ability to communicate persuasively and effectively and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment to foster open communication and support an environment of innovation and creative change.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Salary and Benefits: $150,000 - $185,000 Base plus Bonus
