Job description

Job Purpose

The People Innovation Manager will report to the AVP of Global Strategic Program Management within the People Organization. This role will focus on driving innovation within the People Organization, leveraging technology and data as key catalysts. The manager will lead the Talent Innovation Labs Roadmap and oversee initiatives from scoping to execution, with a strong emphasis on urgency and speed to delivery.

This position requires a blend of strong product innovation process knowledge, primary and secondary research, data analysis and interpretation, and the ability to build reports and presentations for senior leadership.

A successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset, build cross-functional relationships, influence direction, and work urgently to validate hypotheses, create POCs/prototypes, and quickly deliver value to the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Manage Talent Innovation Lab Roadmap (50%)

  • Identify Opportunities: Conduct market research and collaborate with People Organization leaders to spot emerging trends, employee needs, and customer needs, developing innovative solutions.
  • Product Development: Lead the ideation, development, and launch of new products/solutions, ensuring they meet market demands and align with strategic goals.
  • Manage Innovation Talent Lab Roadmap: Evaluate and prioritize the innovation funnel based on feasibility, strategic alignment, market demand, and ROI.

Project Management of Initiatives (25%)

  • Manage projects and create prototypes/MVPs to validate product concepts.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to build project scoping documents, update project plans, and maintain monthly project dashboards.
  • Support the AVP by aggregating monthly project updates for senior leadership readouts.
  • Provide support for ad hoc projects, either through project management or driving execution.

Data Analysis, Visualization, and Storytelling (10%)

  • Analyze and synthesize complex data to understand trends and causation, using insights to tell a compelling story through white papers, PowerPoint presentations, dashboards, etc.

Ad Hoc Support (15%)

  • Maintain exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with and influence team members and stakeholders.
  • Support the AVP in reviewing/reporting the P&L, as well as annual budget and quarterly re-forecasting.
  • Support other ad hoc requests to support the AVP, Global Strategic Program Management.

Required Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, human resources, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in innovation and product development.
  • 2-5 years of experience in project management.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, data science, data modeling, data visualization, AI, and machine learning.
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to effectively translate complex concepts across business stakeholders, colleagues, and associated teams.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities, as constant change is the norm.
  • Experience with market research and data analysis.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Quick learner who can synthesize information and act with urgency.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Experience in product roadmap / project management tools (e.g. Monday.com)

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Experience in product roles, ideally in startups, leading technology, data, and AI product development/transformation.
  • Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning concepts.
  • Experience in visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Design Thinking, and Agile methodologies.
  • Technology passion – innate drive to learn and understand how technology can improve our employee experience.
