Job description

This is a remote position.

A technology driven person who loves working with Ubuntu servers.

We have an Ubuntu server which runs on an Azure VM which hosts our BBDS php based system. The server is managed by WHM & cPanel and has 2 supporting Azure Flexible MySQL database servers. We're looking for someone to help with the Ubuntu server, ensuring it's running well, backed up etc. We're looking for someone who has experience working with Ubuntu & administering servers.

There is no immediate need, this would be a small commitment being available to help where necessary e.g. with server updates or where we encounter problems such as relaying emails, OS updates etc.

You'll be guided by the Technology Team Leader and coached by the charity trustees in every aspect of the role. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF ROLE
  • Ensure the server is running & optimised
  • Monitor server resources, usage & load
  • Complete OS, php & control panel updates where necessary
  • Resolve any issues found e.g. system can't send emails
  • Keep the Leadership Team updated on the plan & progress made
Requirements
  • Experience with Ubuntu server administration
  • Ideally experience in WHM & cPanel
  • Self motivated
  • Attend a monthly or fortnightly online meeting with your team
