The Environmental Regulatory Affairs Specialist plays a key role in the compliance of our operations, products, and services with local, national, and global environmental regulations, company policies, and business objectives. This position integrates broad business concepts and regulatory expertise to develop and implement regulatory plans, to provide guidance to cross-functional teams, and to monitor the regulatory landscape across relevant regions. Reporting to the Director of Chemical, Environmental and Biological Regulatory Affairs, the Environmental Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be responsible for providing guidance and executing regulatory plans to ensure that Agilent’s products comply with local, national, and global environmental regulations, company policies and business objectives. As a member of the Chemical, Environmental and Biological Regulatory Affairs team, you will lead planning, submissions and reporting activities to meet environmental regulatory requirements that impact a wide range of products within Agilent’s portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide regulatory guidance that will help drive business initiatives in a timely and compliant manner. You will lead the execution of regulatory responsibilities, in accordance with global regulatory policies and processes, and provide environmental regulatory expertise across all business divisions within Agilent.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- Establish and implement regulatory plans with the goal to maximize expedient and compliant registrations and renewals in worldwide jurisdictions. Prepare, submit and track registrations, as well as interact with country authorities.
- Ensure that products are compliant and meet or exceed customer expectations through active contribution to project teams, programs and processes in areas such as ecodesign, sustainability, product stewardship, new product development support, and product lifecycle.
- Lead and submit environmental reports and notifications to regulatory authorities in relevant regions. This includes reporting environmental data on plastics, e-waste and batteries, per regulatory requirements.
- Perform data compilations and analysis, and data consistency checks for environmental reporting data.
- Work closely with Regulatory Intelligence to monitor environmental, health, and safety regulations; to communicate legislative and regulatory changes across relevant functions and business units; and to perform change assessments and facilitate implementation of new requirements.
- Coordinate with global regulatory teams, local Business Units & other functions, on country-specific strategies for environmental reporting and product imports/exports in accordance with organizational capabilities.
- Represent the organization at regulatory and business meetings as a regulatory technical expert. Participate in industry associations and standards bodies and may interact with regulatory agencies.
- Provide input and support for regulatory audits and/or responses to agency inquiries or observations, as needed.
- Identify regulatory issues and challenges and recommend improvements and solutions to that may impact programs, workflows, and processes.

Qualifications
Qualifications BS degree in Engineering, Environmental, Biomedical, or Health Sciences or equivalent. Master’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
Skills/ Job Requirements
- 2+ years Regulatory Affairs experience in the environmental, business electronics, and/or chemical regulations. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Minimum of 2 years experience multitasking and prioritizing to meet deadlines, working independently, and leading projects and/or programs.
- Familiarity with the markets Agilent serves, Agilent products and customers’ business needs.
- Demonstrated track record of results using interpersonal, relationship-building skills required to work with multi-cultural and geographically dispersed teams in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
- Experience with Enterprise Compliance Software Solutions, such as SAP.
- Experience interacting with international government organizations (e.g., India, Canada, EU), ideally in regard to environmental compliance.
- Experience in sustainability and product stewardships.
Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.
