Job Title: Director Business Development  

Department: Sales 

Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer  

FLSA Status:   Exempt      Non-Exempt

Job Summary: The Business Development Director will play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies. This position requires a deep understanding of the personal care industry, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving revenue growth. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute the overall business development strategy to drive growth and achieve revenue targets in the personal care industry.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including market analysis, competitor assessment, and customer needs assessment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, distributors, and retailers.
  • Lead the negotiation and closing of business deals, including contracts, partnerships, and distribution agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure successful implementation of business initiatives.
  • Conduct regular market research and stay up to date with industry trends, customer preferences, and regulatory changes to identify new growth areas.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the business development team, including goal setting, performance evaluation, and professional development.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, market share, and competitive landscape to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies accordingly.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive presentations, proposals, and business plans to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.

  • In-depth knowledge of the personal care industry, including market dynamics, product trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify business opportunities and develop effective strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and industry partners.

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in business development or sales leadership roles within the personal care industry.

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to carry and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.  
  • This position will require sitting for long periods of time, walking, standing, bending, as well as using fine motor skills, such as finger dexterity.
