The Business Development Analyst works across the Business Development (BD) team to identify, source, and integrate prospective acquisitions with the goal of accelerating Wealth Enhancement Group’s (WEG) inorganic growth.

The BD team is responsible for differentiating the firm’s inorganic growth engine by effectively communicating WEG’s partnership strategy and assisting prospective acquisitions as they progress through the M&A pipeline. The BD team is an integral part of WEG’s growth strategy and supports prospective acquisitions through the process, from pitch, to negotiation, to execution.

The salary target for this role is $72,000-$82,000 depending on experience. This role is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus.

Primary Job Functions

Acquisition Support

  • Master WEG’s vision, values, objectives for M&A, our product offering, industry dynamics and how to work within a team and broader organization,

  • Assist in the drafting, review, and timely execution of legal documents including NDAs, Indications of Interest (IOIs), Letters of Intent (LOIs) and Purchase Agreements (PAs).

  • Prepare company valuations and deal analyses exercising analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Prepare diligence materials including marketing collateral and presentation decks as well as coordinate conversations between prospects and WEG subject matter experts (SMEs) across various departments.

Direct Outreach and Database Management

  • Update and maintain database of +20,000 potential acquisition targets.

  • Cultivate target lists and execute outreach through various channels including traditional cold-calling, email campaigns and webinars.

  • Track outreach and capture important responses through Salesforce CRM.

  • Coordinate the scheduling of introductory conversations.

Reporting Materials Preparation & Special Projects

  • Create objective-specific materials to support bi-weekly reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to WEG management and Board of Directors.

  • Assist in the drafting of BOD approval decks for prospective acquisitions.

  • Lead the execution of special projects which often encompass analysis of industry trends or additional reporting requests from WEG management.

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in business; finance, economics or related field

  • Experience in financial services and/or business analysis roles

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence to interact with prospects and senior leaders within the firm

  • Effective project management skills with ability to prioritize competing projects and deadlines

  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity, with a demonstrated interest in learning about M&A

  • Self-starting, proactive person who demonstrates initiative, ownership, and leadership

  • Drive, enthusiasm, and solid work ethic

  • Exceptional quantitative and technical skills, ideally with experience in statistics or computer science

  • Basic understanding of company valuation concepts (comparable multiples, DCF, LBO, etc.)

  • Keen interest in financial economics and the wealth management industry

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Support Org functionality

  • Experience with Workday preferred
