In Summary...

We are seeking a Regulatory Consultant to join our team and work with healthcare providers, including Critical Access Hospitals (CAH), Rural Emergency Hospitals (REH), behavioral health facilities, long-term acute care (LTAC) hospitals, and rehabilitation therapy hospitals. This client-facing role will be focused on ensuring that our clients are successfully meeting their regulatory obligations under a variety of CMS programs and other federal healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare administration or regulatory compliance, with a focus on CMS Conditions of Participation, Promoting Interoperability, Clinical Quality Measures, the Cures Act, and other key healthcare regulations.

What You Will Do...

  • Regulatory Compliance Guidance: advise clients on their regulatory obligations, ensuring they are compliant with CMS Conditions of Participation, CCHIT, Clinical Quality Measures, Promoting Interoperability, Improvement Activities, JCAHO/HBIPS, USCDI, the Cures Act, and any other relevant programs.
  • Client Engagement: conduct monthly meetings with clients regulatory owners to assess compliance status, identify risks, and recommend actions to maintain or improve their regulatory standing.
  • Quarterly Executive Briefings: provide strategic updates to the clients executive team, offering a comprehensive overview of their regulatory posture and action plans.
  • Reporting Participation: assist clients in understanding their participation requirements for federal reporting programs (e.g., QualityNet, HARP) and ensure they meet all program measures and deadlines.
  • Risk Management Mitigation: work proactively with clients to mitigate risk, including minimizing hardship exemptions and ensuring timely submission of required attestation documents.
  • Consultative Recommendations: provide actionable recommendations to improve compliance and operational efficiency, helping facilities successfully navigate regulatory challenges.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: partner with Product Management, Implementation, and Support teams to ensure client needs are met and to keep up-to-date with changes to EHR systems, reporting requirements, and regulatory changes.
  • Service Offerings: work with Sales and Account Management teams on developing and selling regulatory service offerings.
  • Documentation Tracking: maintain detailed records of client engagements, compliance status, and any issues or solutions discussed. Track progress on action items and compliance goals.

Background And Skills You Will Bring...

  • Education: Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, regulatory compliance, or a related field; or an RN with regulatory compliance certification (e.g., Certified CMS Compliance Professional (CCMSP).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, healthcare administration, or a related field, preferably with experience in Critical Access Hospitals, LTACs, or other specialized healthcare settings.
  • Technical Skills: Strong familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and healthcare compliance tools such as QualityNet and HARP. Experience with CMS reporting programs is a plus.
  • Certifications: Regulatory compliance certifications (e.g., Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS)) preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to help clients navigate regulatory challenges and stay compliant.
  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail in tracking compliance requirements, ensuring deadlines are met, and identifying potential risks.
  • Independence Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a remote work environment.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, particularly product and implementation teams, to address client needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to client sites, as needed.
