Job Description

The Logistics Engineer – Operations is a diverse role connecting strategic and tactical initiatives with operational execution processes and teams.  This role combines relevant operational knowledge and experience with strong problem-solving skills to ensure the successful implementation and execution of breakthrough opportunities. Providing operational credibility, speaking from a position of relevant experience while supporting valuable advancement and improvement objectives are critical skills enabling the ongoing success of Brinks.

Responsibilities

Liaison between the Logistics Engineering Strategy team and operational teams

  • Provide feedback and critical assessment of strategic opportunities providing the perspective of operational feasibility and execution limitations
  • Leverage operational knowledge and experience to effectively introduce process improvement and cost reduction initiatives to branch operations
  • Lead project implementations on-site providing local support and maintaining two-way communications on behalf of the logistics engineering team

Suggest and design tools and process improvements as a member of the logistics engineering team

Provide progress and performance reports for assigned projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an institution in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or related major.  Will consider equivalent years of experience or combination of education and experience in lieu of degree
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL), warehousing or similar transportation industry
  • Track record of effectively managing operational groups (transportation, CIT, cash processing, etc.)
  • Familiar with route optimization software (OmniTracs Roadnet Anywhere)
  • Familiar with Microsoft office suite of products with relevant experience in Excel.
  • Demonstrate project management skills, prioritization and ability to perform work
  • Ability to travel 10%-20% within the US
