Department

6189 Patient Transport Services

The purpose of this position is to perform and coordinate a variety of duties related to the work order system and Bed Management System. Provides clerical assistance to the Environmental Services Department and Patient Transport Services as needed. Works collaboratively in a team environment to achieve set goals.

QUALIFICATIONS


Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate's degree in a related field or a combination of equivalent education and experience


Experience
Required: Three to five years of experience in a progressively responsible position in Environmental Services and/or Patient Transport Services or related field.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proficient in computer skills including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook, Power Point, Access, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, and Windows.
Possesses excellent customer service skills.
Highly organized individual adept at multi-tasking.
Ability to analyze information and formulate effective reports and plans for using information.
Ability to use sound judgement to ensure the integrity of operations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills including a high degree of professionalism and personal presence.
Ability to prioritize work and work for several managers in a fast paced environment.

Testing
Must pass the Physical Capacity Exam (PCE). This exam includes a 50-pound lifting requirement.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Essential

Manages the Work Order System. Receives work requests for Environmental Services & Patient Transport Services, creates work orders, assigns work orders to appropriate staff, receives completed work orders and ensures work is properly documented and closed accordingly. Retrieves data and prepares reports as directed. Becomes department subject matter expert on the system.

Troubleshoots system problems with IT and vendor as needed.

Manages the bed management system to ensure that turnaround time is in compliance with the set organizational standards. Retrieves data and prepares reports as directed. Develops skill and knowledge of the workings of the system and is able to work with IT and internal experts to troubleshoot problems and resolve issues.

Follows up with customers to ensure that expectations are met for both automated systems.

Ensures administrative operational needs are met.

Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Complies with OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations and accreditation requirements as appropriate.

Maintains department equipment.

Maintains a current and accurate department contact list.

Presents a courteous and helpful demeanor, appropriate for age, to all patients, visitors, and other staff members.


Additional

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

$21.20 -$31.80
