Home working and Huntingdon or Lincoln office

Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your base location will be in our offices in Huntingdon or Lincoln.

Operational Technology (OT) refers to the set of digital assets which are at the very heart of Anglian Waters industrial operations. Operational technology systems are deployed throughout our geographical region to enable remote monitoring and control of water collection, treatment and distribution processes. The demand for Operational Technology solutions within the Water sector is soaring due to the opportunities associated with IT / OT integration and Industry 4.0 applications. It is recognised that OT and the data that OT systems produce is key in enabling us to achieve our performance commitments (including reduction in leakage and pollutions) and providing an excellent service to our customers.

The Service Line Manager will be accountable for the development and operations of the Service Line Products as well as directing highly skilled and experienced digital professionals from across Cyber Security, Architecture, Engineering to deliver a reliable feed of OT data to our colleagues. They will consistently demonstrate a blend of strong Agile leadership skills such as Product Management, Scrum and Kanban coupled with broad technical knowledge enabling them to coordinate technical, operational and strategic discussions in order to drive operational excellence and shape strategy.

The role needs to have a good understanding of IT/OT convergence around software/data and be able to manage the commercial and financial model used to run and enhance the Service Line.

The Service Line Manager will need to coordinate and align the delivery of Product change and enhancements with other delivery routes within OT, IT, Water and Water Recycling. Changes often are dependant on others to succeed, so good understanding and management of internal and external dependencies is vital.

Acting as the Product Owner for the Service Line, you will lead a DevOps Squad accountable for the lifecycle management of the Products ensuring they incrementally evolve based on colleague feedback, technology standards and best practice. You will need to be able to facilitate sessions with senior leaders to collate and translate future requirements for the backlog, able to understand dependencies across the product suite and ensure the backlog is prioritised to deliver the maximum value for the business. You’ll also work with the Platform Architecture team to understand the strategic direction for OT and translate that into the Service Line strategy, roadmap and investment plans.

This role will adapt and evolve as the Operating Model and Service Line scales and matures and the role holder must be prepared to take on and lose some responsibilities and accountabilities.
