Brief Summary of Role:
Salesforce Business Analysts are responsible for leading requirements development sessions to thoroughly understand our customers’ current CRM processes and technologies. They play a key role in supporting the subsequent implementation phases. The BA will identify current pain points and highlight gaps in CRM best practices. They collaborate with the technical team during the design phase and document potential solution options. When necessary, they also create detailed supporting materials, including business process diagrams, wireframes, and context diagrams.
The BA must be able to efficiently synthesize both technical and business information, confidently presenting implementation needs and options. Whether presenting to C-level executives or developer teams, the BA communicates complex information clearly. With hands-on experience in implementing Salesforce functionality, the BA serves as a knowledgeable liaison between technical teams, testing teams, and business stakeholders throughout the implementation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirement Gathering and Analysis:
- Work closely with business stakeholders to identify and analyze their requirements.
- Develop designs based on stakeholder needs and implement Salesforce solutions.
- Build clear requirements development strategies for customer engagements.
- Workshops and Discovery:
- Lead discovery workshops, facilitate discussions, and present solutions.
- Define user personas and document detailed requirements and user stories.
- Process Improvement:
- Organize and conduct process reengineering sessions.
- Identify and address customer pain points and process gaps.
- Rapidly analyze complex business information into functional components.
- Modeling and Strategy:
- Perform business process and user experience modeling.
- Create technical architecture diagrams.
- Interpret and align technical and business strategy roadmaps.
- Backlog and Sprint Management:
- Assist the product owner with backlog grooming, scope selection, and sprint planning.
- Maintain a strong understanding of business requirements and project solutions.
- User Story Refinement and QA:
- Lead user story refinement sessions.
- Conduct end-of-sprint demos and test functionality before handing it over to QA.
- Collaboration with Solution Architects:
- Work closely with solution architects to define requirements and design solutions.
- Executive and Technical Presentations:
- Present findings and solutions to executive-level audiences and technical teams.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
- Guide customers through UAT planning and execution, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Salesforce Expertise:
- Maintain an understanding of Salesforce’s capabilities and limitations and communicate these clearly to customers.

- SFDC Sales Cloud
- SFDC Service Cloud
- SFDC Revenue Cloud
- SFDC Communities
- 3rd Party App Integration
- Data Migration
- Force.com Custom Development
This role requires a blend of business acumen, technical understanding, and excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams while ensuring successful Salesforce implementation.
Education and Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent combination of education.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Consultant for a mid sized organization, or direct consulting expertise leading business transformation projects.
- Experience with Salesforce.com configuration and familiarity with Salesforce.com custom development.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- 2 out of 4 of the following Salesforce.com Consultant Certifications: Sales, Service, Revenue or Community Cloud.
