About The Job
Red Hat Salesforce CPQ (Configure Price Quote) team is looking for a Senior Application Engineer to help drive growth and development of our new Salesforce Lightning instance. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing customized solutions on the Salesforce platform. You will have excellent communication skills and technical expertise and provide best practice recommendations for integration and application development, deployment, and iterative refinement. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, business system analyst (BSA), quality assurance (QA) teams, and global cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and scalable solutions that meet business needs. This role requires deep expertise in Salesforce CPQ, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to technical excellence.
What Will You Do
- Design, development, and implementation of Salesforce CPQ solutions, including product configuration, pricing rules, and quote generation.
- Understanding on when to use Declarative (Flow, Approval Processes, Validation Rules, etc) or programmatic (Apex Classes, Apex Triggers, Lightning Web Components) based Salesforce solutions.
- Use knowledge of tools and best practices for the development and deployment of enterprise applications, including source code management, code review, and unit testing
- Use experience in RESTful and SOAP web services, including Salesforce APIs, and platform events in support of our salesforce.com integrations with other third-party applications and enterprise systems
- Customize and configure Salesforce CPQ to support complex pricing and product catalog requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for Salesforce CPQ solutions, including data models, workflows, and business logic.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and developers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Salesforce CPQ performance, integrations, and functionality.
- Work closely with other teams, including Salesforce administrators, architects, and DevOps, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
What Will You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years working with Salesforce and Salesforce CPQ.
- Strong proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, SOQL, and Salesforce Lightning (LWC).
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ configuration, pricing models, and product catalog management.
- Familiarity with integration tools and third-party APIs (REST, SOAP).
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Github, VS Code, and CI/CD practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce CPQ Specialist and/or Platform Developer I/II, are highly desirable.
- Experience with other Salesforce products like Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Marketing Cloud.
- Prior experience integrating Salesforce CPQ with ERP systems or other third-party platforms.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and modern web development frameworks.
