Position Summary

Working with companies from coast-to-coast, our Regulatory Consultants offer significant value to clients by way of ongoing programs that range from compliance assessments and policy development to program development and implementation, and everything in-between. Consulting services are provided to clients in-house, off-site, or through internet technology. This includes conducting audits & assessments, developing and implementing customized solutions, and providing training, advisory, and technical support to clients. As a Process Safety Management (PSM) Safety Consultant, you will assist clients at OSHA regulated facilities with managing, coordinating, and implementing all fourteen (14) elements of the Process Safety Management (PSM) standard. The position will work individually and as part of the EHS Consulting team and will provide clients with PSM support.

Job Responsibilities
- Conducts PSM compliance audits and assessments, develops customized reports and manuals, and delivers and maintains regulatory curriculum and materials for general and client-specific applications
- Assists clients with OSHA regulated facilities with managing, coordinating, and implementing all fourteen (14) elements of the PSM standard to verify and ensure regulatory compliance
- Actively develops, implements and maintains PSM programs and procedures for various clients that meet federal, state, and local regulations
- Participates in PSM incident investigations as requested by clients, including root cause failure analysis
- Effectively communicates and conducts PSM training
- Facilitates Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
- Assists clients with General Duty Clause compliance
- Demonstrates proficiency in reading and understanding Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Maintains a high level of regulatory expertise associated with PSM
- Monitors and assesses regulatory changes, communicates regulatory information to staff and clients
- Provides regulatory interpretation and technical support and advice, as required, on process safety matters to clients
- Interacts and collaborates with third party customer’s process safety professionals regarding regulatory compliance
- Occasionally visits industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and requires appropriate personal protective equipment
- Proactively develops additional business within client base. Identifies and analyzes customer needs, develops concepts and proposals, schedules activities and closes contracts
- Identifies and develops additional service offerings
Qualifications
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental or a Science related field.
- In lieu of bachelor's degree, will consider an additional 3 years of PSM regulatory experience.
- PSM Auditor Certification required
- PHA Facilitator Certification required
- Formal PSM 1910.119 training preferred
Experience
- 5+ years' experience as a PSM practitioner in a consulting and or corporate environment
- Complex sales / business development experience desirable

- Must be proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a professional and courteous attitude
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with associates and client representatives at all levels

Physical Requirements
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Frequent travel to offsite offices, customer sites and/or industry and training events is required.
Travel Requirements: 40% - 50%

J. J. Keller provides a competitive benefit package which includes the following (eligibility requirements apply): Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan, etc. The compensation range for this role is $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 which varies depending on factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s overall experience and geographic location. Note that J. J. Keller is not currently recruiting employees to work in California.
