Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Process Safety Engineer to join our team! In this role you will lead the process safety aspects of design and construction projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Prepare Safety Plans and procedures
- Provide consultancy to the project manager on Safety aspects of the projects and development of Administrative and Engineering Controls.
- Report the safety performance on the project to the management and client.
- Safety reporting and safety statistics
What Desired and Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
- Minimum of [20] years of experience in a process safety -related role, preferably in design or engineering.
- Knowledge of process safety Source model, Toxic release and dispersion models, Fires and Explosions, Fire Protection, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment
- Experience in reviewing and understanding P&IDs with respect to various equipment, instruments and provide input to the design team.
- Experience in understanding logic and interlocks of process systems,
- Experience in hazard identification and sizing of pressure protection devices for process systems.
- Experience is preparation of process datasheets for safety items like PSV, PVVV, Flame arrestor, etc.
- Knowledge of various process equipment, and utilities equipment like compressor, chiller, steam systems with regards to their operational hazards.
- Knowledge of studies like HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA, etc. of various systems.
- Technical evaluation of specifications on vendor provided safety items.
- Strong knowledge of standard practices within field of experience, safety regulations and standards.
- Communicates effectively orally and in writing. Present ideas clearly and in professional manner. Develops cooperative working relationships and open communication within and across groups, to work towards solutions that benefit all involved parties. Seeks expertise, advice and perspectives from a variety of sources.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Able to manage responsibilities and meet deadlines without supervision.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.

Salary Range:
$40.05 - $70.10
