Job Title: YCI03H – Senior Statistical Programmer
Specific job duties:
- Write, modify, and maintain programs, which produce data sets, tables, and listings for assigned projects.
- Validation and review of other programs.
- Prepare/review project documentation and/or memos for external communications in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Assume responsibilities for data transfers, including documentation and correspondence with external vendors.
- Review Case Report Forms and help in the design of databases.
- Review Analysis Plans and provide feedback to the author(s).
- Mentor less experienced programmers.
- Project management tasks in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Contribute towards process improvements.
- Act as technical consultant to other departments.
- Attend client meetings in conjunction with the Project Manager.
Supervisory Responsibility: N/A
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- BS/BA or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of SAS programming experience or a comparable skill set; at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry as a Clinical/Statistical SAS Programmer
- Excellent understanding of and experience with:
- SAS/Base
- SAS Macro Facility
- Database design principles
- General statistical concepts and procedures
- Any additional SAS modules as required by the specific job position
- Knowledge of a word processing and a spreadsheet package
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team
