Job Title: YCI03H – Senior Statistical Programmer

Specific job duties:

• Write, modify, and maintain programs, which produce data sets, tables, and listings for assigned projects.
• Validation and review of other programs.
• Prepare/review project documentation and/or memos for external communications in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Assume responsibilities for data transfers, including documentation and correspondence with external vendors.
• Review Case Report Forms and help in the design of databases.
• Review Analysis Plans and provide feedback to the author(s).
• Mentor less experienced programmers.
• Project management tasks in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Contribute towards process improvements.
• Act as technical consultant to other departments.
• Attend client meetings in conjunction with the Project Manager.

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• BS/BA or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of SAS programming experience or a comparable skill set; at least 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry as a Clinical/Statistical SAS Programmer
• Excellent understanding of and experience with:
  • SAS/Base
  • SAS Macro Facility
  • Database design principles
  • General statistical concepts and procedures
  • Any additional SAS modules as required by the specific job position
• Knowledge of a word processing and a spreadsheet package
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team
