About this job
We believe in the power of open-source collaboration to solve complex challenges in Kubernetes data management and are looking for a Product Owner (m/f/d) to push forward our vision of a centralized data service management for many Kubernetes clusters.

The product called Klutch is open-source software that simplifies managing data services and enables on-demand provisioning via a Kubernetes-native interface. Klutch is a powerful, Kubernetes-native orchestration tool that simplifies data management across multiple Kubernetes clusters. It provides centralized management and on-demand provisioning of data services through a Kubernetes-native interface, while also serving as a central registry for service instances across environments. Klutch leverages the power of Crossplane® for writing Klutch integrations enabling more efficient operations across multiple clusters and cloud providers.

Your core tasks
  • Product Strategy and Product Vision
    • Act as an interface between our CEO Julian Fischer and the team and work closely with the CEO. 
    • Operationalize the product strategy for the team.
    • Follow a analytical and conceptual approach to developing and prioritizing work items and roadmaps, ensuring that they fit with the product vision.
  • Backlog Management
    • Manage the Product Backlog and prioritize of the development of various product features, also based on stakeholder's input and requests.
    • Remove obstacles and blockers to avoid jeopardizing release dates or sprint goals.
    • Balance feature development work items with research and exploration work items.
  • Capacity Management
    • Collaborate with the developers to gather estimates and set timelines on feature deliverables.
    • Estimate capacity available and align it with roadmap goals.
    • Monitor progress of ongoing work items, including long and short term product initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration
    • Coordinate product releases and communicate product enhancements.
    • Balance the vision and needs of the stakeholders with the team to make sure the product is moving in a meaningful direction.
    • Discuss stakeholder priorities and translate them into work items for the team to work on.
    • Align the roadmap with tasks of other departments like Sales, Marketing, and other tech departments (for other products like a9s Hub).

You are passionate about the product and vision and act as a product ambassador within and outside the company, promoting the product and answering questions about it. With your knowledge of software products and modern software architecture, you will steer software development into a successful future.
What you can contribute
  • Educational background and/or work experience in software development, especially in product offerings that are built to be used by software developers (e.g. cloud services).
  • Practical experience in the work of a product owner. 
  • Experience in software development using the Kanban methodology.
  • Strong team and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, structured and independent way of working.
  • Fluent English language skills (written and spoken).
