ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We are a collaborative global legal team that enjoys working on fun and challenging projects together. We are looking for an experienced, business-minded, and motivated attorney to serve as a trusted business partner for our Sales, Operations, and Marketing teams. This role is ideal for an in-house commercial attorney with experience managing all legal and contract matters for revenue and sales, sales operations, and marketing teams. The successful candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams like Accounting and Enterprise to ensure compliance and efficient contract and sales processes. This position will report to our Commercial Counsel based in Spain on our Global Legal Affairs team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and provide legal advice on revenue-related agreements for global business lines, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating:
    • Terms of purchase, terms of use, and other contract forms for our local sales teams and business lines.
    • Insertion Orders (IOs) and advertising, adtech service, and other related agreements for programmatic exchanges and media campaigns for our digital media advertising teams.
    • Contracts related to eCommerce registry and paper business lines, including registry partnerships, paper partnerships, and supplier contracts.
    • Co-marketing agreements, large campaign contracts, event contracts, and release forms related to campaign assets and initiatives.
    • Sweepstakes, contests, and promotional marketing campaigns and related materials.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Experience (CX), Operations, and Policy teams to provide legal assistance on customer and vendor-related issues, including non-litigation vendor escalations and disputes.
  • Conduct regulatory reviews of digital media advertising content products, eCommerce initiatives, and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with legal subject matter experts to provide legal guidance and support to Revenue and Policy teams on compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Develop and maintain legal contract templates and playbooks and policy guidelines and ensure the consistency of templates and application across the global Revenue and Operations teams.
  • Provide general legal support and advice as a primary point-of-contact for Revenue, Operations, and Marketing teams.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • JD from an accredited US law school (or international equivalent) and member of the bar in any US jurisdiction with the ability to practice in-house for the company in your jurisdiction.
  • 8-10 years of legal experience post-qualification, which includes at least 2 years of experience in an in-house role.
  • Demonstrable experience handling the Key Responsibilities listed above, including significant experience drafting and negotiating sales and revenue-related agreements and providing legal guidance and review for all aspects of company sales, operations, and marketing matters.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple projects on aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong and effective document drafting and negotiating skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and clearly communicate complex legal issues to business partners with a business-oriented approach.
  • Strong collaboration skills both within and across teams.
  • Experience with a marketplace, ecommerce, adtech, and/or digital advertising business is a plus.
  • Experience with complex litigation and enterprise-wide dispute management is a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a strong plus.
