Job description

Project description

Wordworks (WW) in South Africa has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as a Donor Relations and Resource Mobilization Specialist. Wordworks is an organisation that has dedicated all its efforts to improving access and the quality of early language and literacy development in the first eight years of children’s lives in South Africa. For operational sustainability and continued growth in achieving a national footprint of quality programmes and materials, WW necessarily needs to undertake significant resource mobilization; however, WW has identified capacity constraints and would appreciate expert resource mobilization assistance that can support the senior management and director and transfer necessary skills to the organisation.

The PCRV will be a critical resource who will support the Director and senior management team of Wordworks in the area of resource mobilization by researching and identifying potential grant opportunities (local and international) that align with Wordworks’ mission and objectives. The PCRV will also support the development and submission of high-quality grant applications, including contributing to the writing of persuasive proposals and compiling the necessary documents.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in South Africa together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
