Hempel, a global leader in coatings and paints, is seeking a Key Account Manager to join our Marine Sales team. In this pivotal role, you will drive business growth by managing key accounts, building positive relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of our products to clients. You will be responsible for pursuing new business opportunities, supporting existing customers, and contributing to the development of sales strategies that align with our goals. The Marine Sales team plays a crucial role in rapidly growing our market presence and is often the first point of contact for addressing sophisticated client needs and delivering tailored solutions.

As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving B2B sales across multiple channels within the Marine segment. Your role involves pursuing sales leads, visiting both existing and potential customers within the Marine eco-system, assessing their needs, and recommending suitable solutions and services. Based in Hempel Headquarter in Lyngby, Denmark, you'll report to Senior Sales Manager and focus on:

  • Penetrate new business in focus accounts, develop an excellent market and customer knowledge of the business opportunities in the area of responsibility,
  • Build strong relationship / partnership with internal and external partners.
  • Develop positive relationship with client key decision makers
  • Ensure clear client and sales opportunity mapping
  • Meet sales targets / KPI
  • Continue to maintain key accounts with running business and grow market share.
  • Work closely with teams within the marine business units and other internal departments to ensure client needs are met in a timely manner.
  • CRM kept up to date

What do you need to be successful in this role?

As a Key Account Manager, you will also handle customer inquiries, negotiate prices and delivery times within your authority, and close sales orders to meet revenue targets. Additionally, you will identify, research, and engage with prospective customers, fostering positive relationships that promote future sales and encourage repeat business.

  • Sound understanding  of general business related  with B2B  sales - minimum 5 years experience
  • Technical or commercial experience in the marine, coatings and paints industry preferred
  • Detailed understanding of Marine products at both technical and commercial levels,
  • University degree (Technical / engineering branches, additional education at commercial branches a plus)
  • CRM proficient
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Highly fluent in English. Bulgarian or Russian will be an asset.
  • Flexible to travel when needed.
