We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our client's direct Tax team.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a fully-fledged professional services firm working on specific business units in the areas of finance, corporate, tax, legal, and gaming, and is located in Naxxar.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading tax-planning and implementation strategies to optimize clients’ tax liability.
Providing advice on tax considerations in various processes of corporate restructuring and financing, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investments, and other types of transactions.
Assisting international and local clients with ad-hoc tax advisory engagements.
Assisting in tax compliance and execution, including preparation of corporate tax returns and tax refund applications.
Assisting in tax audits and liaising with tax authorities.
Delivering technical training and providing technical support to the accounting and audit teams.
Keeping abreast with direct tax developments locally and internationally.
Identifying opportunities for the unit’s growth.
Re-assessing and proposing improvements to systems and processes as and when required.
Assisting junior team members as their primary point of contact and review work where appropriate.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
A minimum of 2 years experience in a CSP environment following achievements of qualifications.
Excellent command of accounting standards, Maltese tax legislation.
Working against deadlines and delivering in a timely manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Maltese languages. Knowledge of a third language is considered a plus.
Working on your own initiative and in a team, with a pro-active approach.
Building relationships with clients and having a passion for delivering exceptional service.
EDUCATION
ACCA qualified or equivalent.
WORKING TIME
Flexibility in starting time, from 07:30 till 09:30, 40 hours per week with 30 minutes break.
