Job Purpose

This is for the position in the Strategy Research Consulting division at Acuity, one of the fastest growing segments within the firm.

It will offer the opportunity to work with the Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, Market Insights Analytics, Marketing and other teams of our clients across Energy sector and assist them in devising their go-to-market strategies, understanding markets, tracking competitors, tracking MAs and players activities.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves conducting industry research for a leading consulting client where, among other things, the focus is on the following:

Identify new markets and chart entry strategies: Identify new markets for growth through analysis of market size, competitive landscape, growth opportunities and formulate organic and /or inorganic entry strategies
Identify attractive opportunities: Identify emerging and high-growth sectors for investment through market analysis, such as, market size, historical and projected growth rates, emerging market trends, key drivers, etc. Deep dive into specific companies to understand core strengths, strategies, financial health, outlook etc.
Benchmark products and marketing strategies : Market segmentation, product benchmarking, pricing studies, competitor analysis to identify best of breed strategies

Enhance performance: Work closely with clients to manage and improve performance through tools, such as benchmarking, value chain analysis, customer analysis, competitive assessment, cost management, etc.

Key Competencies

2-4 years of experience in strategy research and analysis across TMT.
Working on conventional TMT research requests, a ssisting client in requests catering to TMT sector, deep diving into the value chain, analysis of market size, competitive landscape, growth opportunities

The research role is primarily a qualitative research role, though some basic understandings of quantitative terms are required.

Research work background in the suggested sector is a bonus.
A deeper understanding of business models of TMT sector is an added bonus. Experience in conducting market/industry studies, company research, MA deal screening, competitive analysis, benchmarking and analysis is also needed.
Good at MS Office; including MS Excel and Word.
Understanding of databases such as Capital IQ, Factiva, Refinitiv, Global Data, etc. is a plus.
Experience in handling projects independently.
Also, able to work on short duration turn-around requests, i.e. turnaround of 1 day or less.
Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills, as evidenced by extensive experience in utilizing those skills in research and consulting environment. Adept at synthesizing information to generate insights.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
