About the team
Are you a senior communication expert with a passion for people and technology? Then join our team and help us on our mission to make banking work better for everyone. We are recruiting for a Director of Internal Communications & Engagement. In this role, you will be responsible for driving Mambu's strategic approach for employee engagement across the company. You will be a member of the Mambu People team, working closely with our CEO and Leadership Team, to develop and promote key programs that drive exciting and fulfilling career paths for current and prospective employees. You will have the opportunity to translate the company vision into action on the ground; the responsibility of equipping managers to lead teamson our journey; and the challenge to build and strengthen the pride and energy that our people have for what we do. Experience in advising senior leaders is essential, as is a passion for people and technology.
Responsibilities
- Internal Communications: Partner with the CEO, Leadership Team and People teams to ensure engaging and consistent global internal communications at Mambu. Develop and implement the internal communications strategy for Mambu so that our employees understand our mission and their part in it. Lead on the development of a range of communication channels, including company-wide meetings, ‘Ask Me Anything’ sessions, functional team meetings, and the regular use of our internal communications platforms (intranet, Slack, Zoom, etc.). Manage the internal crisis communication response to key situations. Ensure there is an effective two-way flow of information with employees. Capture and compile feedback that can be used to improve future activities.
- Engagement & Retention activities: Partner with the CEO, Leadership Team and People teams to continuously improve employee engagement. Own our Mambu Pulse (engagement survey) strategy, including communications and activation of results. Use insights and outcomes to influence programs that improve employee engagement and drive a positive work environment. Support our employees to build communities around topics that are important to them.
- Functional & Team Leader development: Partner with the Mambu People team to improve our leader and team leader capabilities at Mambu. Develop, manage and coordinate the delivery of innovative activities, including facilitating learning workshops, events and tools, with a focus on crucial topics, including change management, performance management and strategy activation.
- Teamwork and Role Modelling: Build a strong network across Mambu and be a role model of our culture. Foster a creative and collaborative work environment to encourage innovation and excellence based on our Mambu Values.
What you’ll bring:
Your experience includes:
- A completed Master’s degree, with 10+ years of experience in communication in an international business environment
- Experience in working in a start-up or scale-up environment, with a proven ability to communicate and lead through change, and to adapt within a dynamic business
- Strong stakeholder management skills; engaging, aligning, saying ‘no’ adequately; you are a confident and fact-based advisor to senior management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: nonverbal and verbal, informing, presenting, engaging, convincing, aligning, advising senior executives
- Excellent writing skills; communication experience in an English speaking business environment is a must (written & verbal), native-level English
- Experience with culture initiatives, transformation and change management
- You are culturally and politically sensitive, have a hands on approach to work, are a good listener and understand the importance of the right tone of voice in communications
- You can work independently, while also being a trustworthy and dependable team player
