About the team

 

Join our Finance Team at our Amsterdam head office, where you will play a pivotal role in managing Mambu's IFRS accounting with focus on revenue recognition and revenue related operations. 

Your focus will be on ensuring financial compliance with IFRS, focusing on streamlining revenue processes across the organisation. As the primary contact person for the business, you will review revenue contracts and offer expert guidance on matters related to revenue recognition. You will also act as an IFRS expert, providing insights into various areas such as lease contract recognition (IFRS 16), trade receivable impairment (IFRS 9), share-based options (IFRS 2), provisions (IAS 32), etc.

Collaboration will be key in this role, as you'll work closely with teams across Accounting, OTC, Finance Control, FP&A, as well as Sales, Legal, Delivery and Customer Support departments. You will manage a small team (1 or 2 FTE) and will report directly to our Group Head of Accounting, Reporting, and Controls.

 

What you’ll do:
  • Linking point between Finance and Commercial teams by facilitating communication and coordination between finance and commercial teams regarding revenue recognition and other IFRS topics
  • Advising Sales, Marketing, and Product Development Teams about revenue recognition and financial aspects of customer contracts
  • Revenue data analysing to identify trends and support strategic decisions for revenue growth
  • Contract management in ERP (NetSuite) such as setting new contracts up, modification of existing contracts, terminations and renewals
  • Managing revenue processes and controls across Mambu's global operations
  • Responsible for IFRS compliance focusing on revenue recognition and impairment assessment of accounts receivables
  • Collaboration with FP&A for revenue forecasting and churn projections
  • Ensure proper, accurate and complete data used for Mambu's financial statements (IFRS)
  • Serving as an IFRS expert in various areas including lease contracts (IFRS 16), trade receivables impairment (IFRS 9), share-based options (IFRS 2), provisions (IAS 32), etc.
  • Preparation of accounting position papers for internal purposes as well as for external auditors
  • Coaching and developing a team of 1 or 2 professionals located in different locations
What you’ll bring:
  • Eagerness to make a difference
  • Master’s (bachelor's) degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is a plus
  • 7+ years of professional work experience in a Finance or Accounting function
  • Work experience in a “Big4” is a plus. This is a great opportunity for a “Big4” employee who is considering further developing their career in the SaaS business
  • Deep knowledge in IFRS in relation to IFRS 15 and IFRS 9. Good understanding of other IFRS standards - hands-on approach of reading materials and finding the right answer
  • Experience in writing accounting position papers (IFRS)
  • Proficiency with ERP (especially NetSuite), Excel and G-Suite
  • Understanding of billing and collection processes
  • Good people management and people development skills
  • Can-do mindset, eager to improve the quality of processes and related output
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to also see 'the big picture’
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in fintech and/or SaaS is considered a plus
