Description

SUMMARY

The Learning Systems Specialist plays a key role in supporting AMPP’s strategic transformation from a product-focused to a market-driven approach. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize and implement technology solutions that enhance AMPP’s Education offerings, improve access to knowledge, and drive value for a global audience. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, familiarity with scalable enterprise architecture, project management, and an understanding of Learning Science and Learning Engineering to deploy and support innovative learning technologies that align with organizational goals. It also requires strategic thinking, creativity, and expertise in learning technologies and knowledge management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • In collaboration with Dir, Content Management and Education Product Development Manager, design and implement AMPP’s Education Content Strategy, including but not limited to establishing governance and guidelines around content structure, content reuse, content channel deployment, and content metrics.
  • Oversee the development, configuration, and support of AMPP’s learning technology platforms (e.g. LMS, LXP, LCMS, LRS, AR/VR, TMS, etc.), as well as ensure seamless integration with other systems (e.g. CRM, CMS, AMS, etc.), as appropriate, to enhance the learning experience.
  • Oversee the implementation of a Learning Content Management System and associated Learning Content Strategy, as well as onboard instructional designers and subject matter experts to manage, maintain, and update learning content in alignment with market needs and strategic priorities.
  • Utilize xAPI data from Learning Record Stores to track user engagement, measure learning outcomes, and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • In collaboration with Mgr., Educational Product Development, create and maintain project management systems related to internal staff and vendor progress toward project deliverables.
  • Provide technical support to learners, instructors, and partners. Develop and deliver training materials and support resources to enhance user proficiency with learning technologies.
  • Support the rollout of new technology initiatives by managing timelines, coordinating resources, and ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams.
  • In collaboration with IT, drive seamless integration of learning technologies with AMPP data systems, delivering powerful insights and comprehensive reporting to elevate Education products and services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive learning innovation and implement effective communication and change management strategies.
  • Monitory industry trends in learning technology and recommend solutions that could support the organization’s goals in workforce development, operational risk management, and customer-centric growth.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Some domestic and/or occasional international travel (up to 25%) may be required to support instructor and partner onboarding, training, and relationship management efforts. Passport is required.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development, Instructional Technology, or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and scaling Learning Technology solutions and/or knowledge management initiatives in a global, distributed setting, preferably in a heavy industrial environment/industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in open-source, XML-based Content Management processes, standards, and technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in LXP implementation and ongoing management, as well as LRS implementation and resulting learning analytics, including but not limited to firm knowledge of xAPI formatting and principles.
  • Experience supporting transformation efforts or scaling digital learning solutions is preferred.
  • Proficiency in CRM (Salesforce), AMS (Nimble) and project management software is preferred.
