State Fund’s, Glendale State Contracts Legal team is seeking a motivated Attorney to join our exceptional legal team. At State Fund, we represent the insured employers and various State Agencies of California, handling challenging workers' compensation-related issues, including subrogation. As an Attorney with us, you’ll have the opportunity to make real impact by handling, defending, and litigating cases. You’ll be at the forefront of depositions, administrative hearings, and court appearances, ensuring justice is served to our clients.

The Attorney serves under the authority of the Assistant Chief Counsel.

  • Making confident court appearances, including trials

You'll find yourself navigating a wide range of venues, from the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board to California courts and various administrative forums. In addition to handling cases, you'll have the opportunity to engage in "project" work, such as providing training, taking on specialized assignments, and coordinating complex litigation involving multiple parties and issues.

Remote Work with Local Impact:

This position offers the flexibility of remote work. However, to facilitate local hearings, we seek candidates located in the Los Angeles area. Reimbursement for local travel will be provided within the allowable mile radius.

The Glendale State Contracts Legal team is composed of 2 legal units consisting of a total of 18 attorneys. Located at the heart of the LA area, Glendale boasts a vibrant and exciting office location. Our attorneys will be required to appear at the Los Angeles, Van Nuys, and Marina del Rey WCAB’s and take pride in working collaboratively to ensure a robust representation of State Fund’s state agency clients at these challenging venues.

  • The ability to comprehend complex medical reports
  • Excellent organizational skills, coupled with the ability to meet deadlines while managing an active caseload
