About us

We are Digital Science and we are advancing the research ecosystem.
We are a pioneering technology company, and our vision is of a future where a trusted and collaborative research ecosystem drives progress for all. We believe in better, open, collaborative and inclusive research. In creating the next generation of tools and working in partnership with the community we tackle some of the biggest challenges to research. In order to achieve our vision, we need innovative, inspiring and dynamic people to join our team. Want to join us?

Your new role

As part of the global and dynamic team, you will play a key role in working with customers, to understand their needs and match these to our tools. Our Sales Engineer will utilize their specialist knowledge to support our sales teams in their client relationships in a growing US government market. If you are interested in the world of research and how it can help society and understand the landscape and the people and organizations involved in it, you could be part of our team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Identify potential clients, and through listening to their needs, match these to relevant Dimensions tools/analysis to build new business relationships

  • Support regional sales teams in their work with clients, using your specialist knowledge to answer detailed questions

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Digital Science customer use cases, products, and capabilities

  • Support the entire client journey from initial interest, learning more about Dimensions, developing solutions and cost proposals to signing contracts

  • Working with the wider Dimensions team, create insightful and relevant, client-facing custom demonstrations, webinars and sales materials

  • Support clients with onsite & offsite training and workshops

  • Speak about Dimensions at conferences and gatherings to enhance the profile of our products

  • Use Salesforce.com to track activity and update account/contact information

  • Work closely with Account Managers to support quota achievement (this role includes variable compensation related to revenue goals).

What you’ll bring to the role

  • You will have experience of supporting sales to US federal science agencies or similar organizations

  • You have supported the sales of products which require the agreement of a range of stakeholders

  • You are experienced in supporting sales of information solutions/software (i.e. instead of content)

  • Having worked in a matrix environment, you will have experience of supporting complex sales processes

  • You have experience in facilitating customer workshops

  • You can apply your expertise to offer practical advice and solutions through conversation and product demonstration

  • You will be a strong communicator and able to present your findings to a varied audience through written and verbal presentation

  • You will be comfortable working in a fast paced, changing environment and utilize this to empower your career with us

  • You excel in building and maintaining relationships and can translate customer requirements into actionable solutions

  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining customer relationships

  • Adaptable to client needs and motivated to deliver results on time

  • If you have technical skills (Python, Plotly, Dash) it would be advantageous

Not sure you meet all qualifications? Let us decide! Research shows that women and members of other under-represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when in fact, they often do! We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and strongly encourage you to apply.
