About the Role

As a Senior Medical Writer, reporting to the Associate Director based in Sydney, you are expected to create engaging, medically, and scientifically accurate communications that are appropriately tailored to the target audience. Your responsibilities will extend across a diverse audience spectrum, encompassing healthcare professionals, patients, and their caregivers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Produce a variety of medical writing outputs, such as slide-kit presentations, websites, branded campaign materials, and patient education resources.
  • Participate in the editorial process from the production of first-round copy to final drafts and proofreading to ensure all work is produced to a high and accurate standard.
  • Liaise with faculty/authors and account services as necessary regarding manuscript development and author relationships.
  • Support in gathering information from authors at the project outset, such as commissioning letters, references, and other necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with creative, strategy, development, account service, and project management teams as required.
  • Participate in quality control processes to verify that manuscripts/layouts are free from errors before they are delivered to clients. Ensure all work is meticulously proofread to maintain a high standard of quality.
  • Ensure that all mandatories are incorporated accurately into manuscripts and final artwork.
 

Position Prerequisites

  • At least 4 years of experience in Medical writing or a similar position.
  • High-level knowledge of the Medicines Australia Code Of Conduct.
  • Graduate degree or PhD in life-sciences discipline.
  • Interested in the non-medical sector writing and conceptual development.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
