Job description

Overview

Operations Controller

We have a very successful and brilliant Inventory team - they support our business across Europe, Middle East and Africa - and make-up an Operations team that makes a real impact on our growth. These opportunities do not come up regularly, but now, working on a hybrid-basis from our Maidenhead office, we have a new vacancy for a conscientious, determined, and organised Operations Controller.

How can you make an impact?

The main purpose of the role is to use our data entry system to create shipments for books that will be receipted by our warehouses. Our new Operations Controller will accurately input invoice information and delivery notes, identifying and investigating discrepancies.

Your contribution to the team will include:

  • Maintaining accurate arrival dates for inbound shipments, so that our educational customers receive our market-leading resources.
  • Maintaining an accurate stock file - comparing our stock file with that of our interfacing warehouse system.
  • Investigating variances between stock files and working to bring the systems in line. This will ensure we meet customer expectations and fulfill orders.
  • Checking and coding invoices so that our printers and suppliers receive timely payment.
  • Providing freight forwarder shipments clearance and documentation that will support customs clearance.
  • Working closely with our Accounts Payable team - ensuring accurate accounting and supporting with auditor requests.

You should apply if you have:

  • Demonstrable experience in an administration, data-entry, or operations environment.
  • Previous experience in inventory management or supply chain would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data-accuracy skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills and enjoy working with large data sets.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to communicate at all levels.

Why work for us?

We an organisation that helps the learning experience for educators and students - every employee at McGraw Hill has a part to play. If you enjoy working with data, want to be part of a very successful team, and want to work for a market-leader, please apply today.
