Position Summary
The Senior Director (SD), Partnership Implementation will set the vision and direction for LEE’s onboarding, integration, and ongoing deepening of LEE member partner organizations into its network of diverse, values-based civic leaders.
Over the next five years, LEE seeks to expand membership from ~55,000 to 110,000+ through partnerships with other leadership development organizations. This role will manage a portfolio of current partners so that we have a trust-based, impact-oriented, networked relationship. The SD, Partnership Implementation works across LEE to ensure we are effectively and equitably meeting the needs of new partners and is a member of the team accountable for pre-membership, registration, and onboarding goals. They will also create and facilitate strategies to drive greater efficiency, effectiveness, and collective impact among partner organizations in their portfolio.
The SD will work across the organization to ensure the high-quality, impactful implementation and integration of our partnerships strategy with organizations who grant with us so their staff and alumni have access to LEE leadership development and support.
The SD, Partnership Implementation will report to the SD, Member Partnerships, work closely with the Senior Vice President (SVP) - Partnerships & Infrastructure and other senior advisors to support the executive level management of member partner organizations and will support the effectiveness and efficiency of the Member Partnerships team.
Position Location: Flexible
Travel Requirements: Estimated 20-30% - National travel every 4-6 weeks for external partner and recruitment, team retreats, and organizational gatherings
Responsibilities
Partnership Implementation (40%)
- Provide direct support to onboard new partner organizations and/or new staff of current partner organizations
- With member partners, build the implementation strategy and operational plans to meet partnership goals, including new member registration (for leaders currently active in their program and matriculated alumni), early and sustained engagement and leadership growth
- In collaboration with other LEE teams, create the LEE-led and/or member-partner-led resources necessary to register and engage new and current members (i.e., events, digital campaigns)
- Identify barriers to partnership and strategize with stakeholders to address them
Partner Network and Relationship Management (25%)
- Manage a portfolio of national and regional member partners of varying levels of complexity and size
- Build relationships with key leaders of our member partners
- Build and execute the strategy to strengthen the effectiveness and collaboration among LEE’s portfolio of partners (e.g., Communities of Practice, joint/co-branded events or offerings, Member Partner staff gathering to experience LEE)
- Identify and execute other strategies to deepen organizational partnerships, including opportunities for member partners to partner with LEE in other ways (e.g., Partner Provider, SPARK partner, fellowship host, etc.) and opportunities to strengthen the partnership overall (e.g., co-branded thought leadership, joint conference engagements, amplification of one another’s work)
Operations and Analytics (25%)
- Build the strategy and tools for LEE and member partner orgs to monitor the effectiveness of strategies for registration, onboarding, early and sustained engagement and leadership growth
- Collaborate across teams to build scalable systems and tools for the registration and onboarding of new members and partner management, e.g., dashboards, codified processes
- Manage grant execution and progress reporting to partners (and funders as needed)
- Inform the work of the SVP and SD, Member Partnerships in the development and negotiation of partner contracts and renewals
- Synthesize insights from qualitative and quantitative data for board and other stakeholder reporting
Special Projects (10%)
- Lead or contribute to team-level, org-wide, or cross-team special projects to accelerate impact as assigned by manager or designee
- Provide short-term coverage during a leave, vacancy, or PTO
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience (If you do not hold a Bachelor’s degree an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required. If you hold an Associate’s degree an additional 2 years of relevant experience is required.)
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience including partnerships, project management, and/or relationship management
- Strong analytical skills including progress monitoring and evaluation
- Demonstrated skill in public speaking, meeting facilitation, and/or facilitating adult learning
- Experience building relationships across diverse, internal and external stakeholders
- Strong, demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, & inclusion
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team
- Deep passion for educational equity and belief in LEE’s mission and theory of change
Preferred Qualifications
- Extended network of staff relationships within one of LEE’s current partner organizations
- Familiarity with leadership development, e.g., experience developing or managing leadership trainings for adult learners
- Experience in member or candidate recruitment and marketing
- Demonstrated interest or experience in politics, policy, advocacy, organizing, or civic engagement, at any level
Physical Requirements & Work Demands
- This position is primarily a sedentary role working with colleagues based around the country using remote technologies.
- The person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with staff or access office equipment.
- The person in this position will need to have the ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities.
- Occasional evening and/or weekend work is required.

Benefits And Pay
The position level for this role is Senior Director 1 and the corresponding pay range for this position is $110,000-$170,880. Pay is competitive and based upon relevant experience and cost of labor for your location.
