Job description

CopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for a remote Corporate Development Analyst. The Corporate Development Analyst supports the corporate development function of the company. This position involves interaction at the highest levels of the company and is a key driver to the strategy of the company. The primary responsibility of the Corporate Development Analyst is to assist in researching market characteristics and trends, complete competitor analysis, gather and organize market intelligence data and reports, conduct analytical reviews, and assist in the qualification of corporate development opportunities, due diligence activities, and integration activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the qualification of corporate development opportunities, including researching market potential and conducting due diligence activities as assigned.
  • Assist in the strategic analysis of new business opportunities, including conducting research and preparing overviews of industry segments and trends.
  • Utilize multiple sources (proprietary, third-party, and industry resources/publications) to analyze and produce significant, useful, and objective insights.
  • Gather and organize market intelligence data. Identify, collect, and synthesize research on market characteristics, trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Perform financial analysis on target companies, including the creation of multi-year proformas, and financial statement analysis.
  • Monitor, organize, and report relevant industry news and current events to support competitive intelligence and assessment of new threats and opportunities arising in the marketplace.
  • Assist in the integration of M&A opportunities, including coordination with leaders across the enterprise to assess integration opportunities and track overall progress.
  • Present findings to executive management, including CFO and CEO.
  • Develop effective personal business relationships within and outside the organization.
  • The position requires infrequent travel.



Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience in corporate development or technical and analytical market research. Experience with insurance industry financial analysis or actuarial experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret and summarize large amounts of information
  • Experience conducting market research and/or competitor analysis
  • Self-starter and intellectually curious
  • Highly organized, able to manage time and multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas and manage relationships on behalf of the company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
