Job Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Analyst for a quantitative role to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in economics, finance, or accounting, with exceptional proficiency in working with spreadsheets. This role is essential in helping us analyze various data sets and provide insights that will drive decision-making processes within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather, sort, and analyze data from various sources, including utilities, state reports, and internal data sets.
• Perform nuanced analysis on complex data sets and provide actionable insights based on findings.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets to organize and present data effectively.
• Create detailed reports and presentations that communicate analysis results to stakeholders.

• Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes using analytical models.

• Work closely with other team members to understand their data needs and ensure alignment on objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data collection and analysis methods.

• Follow complex instructions and ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Utilize asynchronous working hours effectively to maximize productivity and meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis, or a similar role.
• Proven track record of working with spreadsheets and managing large data sets.
• Exceptional proficiency in Excel and spreadsheets; ability to create complex formulas and data models.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.
• High level of English proficiency, with strong comprehension skills to follow complex instructions and communicate findings effectively.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities; adept at interpreting and analyzing data to draw meaningful conclusions.
• Ability to perform nuanced analysis and demonstrate a very high IQ.
• An accounting background is a plus, though knowledge of energy is not required.
