Job Overview

Join our esteemed energy consulting firm, a leader in the industry with over 24 years of global experience in delivering technical services. We are currently seeking a Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) to contribute significantly to our initiatives on U.S. military bases, collaborating closely with the Department of Defense (DOD) to enhance energy efficiency and assess energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive energy efficiency initiatives to achieve a minimum of 3% annual reduction in energy use intensity and a 2% reduction in water consumption intensity.
  • Formulate and execute an Energy Plan and Implementation Strategy.
  • Analyze facility energy use through spreadsheets, Advanced Meter Data, and utility billing databases, rectifying any discrepancies.
  • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with Facility Managers and Building Energy Monitors.
  • Optimize operations to minimize utility expenses by targeting facilities with high energy-saving potential.
  • Establish an energy awareness program to promote incentives and suggestions.
  • Facilitate utility demand reduction initiatives to maximize cost avoidance.
  • Conduct comprehensive energy audits and provide expertise in renewable energy solutions.
  • Propose and advocate for potential energy projects, programs, and initiatives.
  • Assist in the realization of DOD's climate strategy objectives, including Microgrid projects and Integrated Energy and Water Plans (IEWP).

Required Skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other essential software.
  • Strong technical foundation, particularly in HVAC systems.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification or willingness to obtain it within 8 months of employment (training and testing fees will be covered).
  • Relevant experience is essential:
    • A four-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years in energy management;
    • An Environmental Science or related degree with at least 8 years of experience in energy management;
    • A two-year technical degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management;
    • No degree but with a minimum of 12 years of experience in energy management.
