This role manages the specification of Armacell‘s thermal and acousitc insulation products and to create demand for Armacell products by developing relationships with owners/EPCs in Energy sector and Non-Energy industrial sector. S/he is also responsible in leading technical excellence in management of company's product portfolio through delivering product philosophy and identify innovation opportunities.

This role also acts as a specialist to provide information related to Armacell products (specifications, design, solutions, sales and distributor information) to these relationship partners, in order to drive positive long-term results by providing advice on performance, guidance on compliance matters, and developing high-quality technical proposals and specification support for Armacell products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Owners/EPCs/Contractors/Distributors/Partners in both Energy and Non-Energy Industrial sectors. 
  • Provide general technical leadership to region in all matters associated with oil & gas, Energy industry.
  • Provide general technical leadership to region in all matters associated with non-Energy sectors including but not limited to Steel & Mining, Pulp & Paper, Cement & Mining, F&B, Semiconductor, Electrical & Electronic, Glove, Automotive and its related industries.
  • Prepare and present professional proposals that includes technical solutions, financial solutions, technical calculations and overall cost savings for partners. 
  • Support site trial of new insulation solutions from the company including site survey, design of insulation systems, site support of trial installation, performance monitoring, analysis and documentation of trial projects.
  • Achieving product specification in projects through research to identify and establish connection with prospective partners.
  • Promote, present and demonstrate products technically through the understanding of customer needs, acting as a consultant to partners.
  • Organise site Meetings with Owners/EPCs/Contractors and advising them on the technical performance specifications for products and systems to incorporate Armacell product into their corporate/general specifications.
  • Support regional business managers in handling enquiries, preparation of client meetings and coordinating necessary follow-up.
  • Engage with regional teams to ensure consistency in knowledge, advice & procedures.
  • Prepare and provide technical presentations to customers and at events on product performance, product applications and regulations affecting insulation materials.
  • Develop and deliver training modules to regional/local technical and sales managers of Advanced Insulation, distributors and engineers in and out of the region on technical knowledge for ArmaGel/ArmaFlex and other products.
  • Work closely with Marketing & Marcomms team to develop new marketing collaterals such as case reference, case studies and technical marketing documents.
  • Provide training on usage of in-house calculation tools on various thermal and acoustic analysis.
  • Support development of technical literature and tools with technical team and product managers.
  • Arrange for testing and certification of products to meet local market requirement, ensuring compliance to regional regulations and document management according to company policy.
  • Work closely with the Sales Team to provide a complete solution for both installations and service to customers.
  • Representation of Armacell to industry associations by actively participating in industry trade organizations. Attend periodic marketing events and conferences to promote company capabilities and foster customer relationships.
  • Provide advice to customers on the use of products to meet local laws and standards, and monitoring changes in regulations that affect compliance and future needs for product development.
  • Provide analysis and review of industry and competitors trends in technology.
  • Work closely with Marketing and R&D staff to assist in the development and trials of new products and systems.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in Engineering/Science 
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in oil & gas/energy industry
  • Proven track record with international companies representing a range of products with clear understanding of the BD, sales and marketing processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, management and report skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to present well and network effectively
  • Influencer, able to forge close working relationship with technical contributors and garner support and input to the BD process
  • Commercially focused, results oriented with strong customer focus
  • Organized and efficient in self managing & pursuing business objective
  • Committed team player, enthusiastic, reliable, loyal and flexible with a positive can do attitude

About the role:

  • New role – expansion as company wants to focus on O&G and non-Energy Industrial sectors in the SEA region.
  • Countries covered: Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore
  • Technical specification role, technical support (pre-sales and post-sales)
  • Technical presentations to Project Owners / Principals / EPCCs to spec in product to create demand
  • Report to Technical Manager APAC based in Malaysia
  • Company sells Insulation materials, and this will focus on O&G market / Energy / Non-Energy Industrial market.
  • Insulation materials are used to line pipes, equipment, tanks, vessels, etc. for both onshore and offshore, petrochemical plants, refineries, etc.
  • The role is mainly technical but requires someone with business / commercial mindset, able to present and face customers in person to pitch solutions and convince them to use Armacell products
  • Travel is about 30%
  • Work closely with local’s sales/BDM
  • Role will be home-based as they do not have an office in Malaysia.
