SCS Standards is a not-for-profit organization specializing in the development of sustainability standards. We are the official standards development body for SCS Global Services. We partner with corporations, industry associations, NGOs, and social and environmental stakeholder groups to facilitate and develop proprietary voluntary sustainability standards that break new ground in environmental and social responsibility and provide a platform to recognize leadership efforts in multiple industries.
Job Overview
The Standards Associate II is responsible for the facilitation, development, and management of new standards, and for supporting the revision of existing standards to maximize their climate, environmental and social outcomes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage the successful completion of standard revisions or launch of new standards
- Develop Certification and Accreditation Requirements based on ISO 17065 or 17021 for existing and new standards
- Create long- and short-term timelines, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, communicating any changes to plans
- Communicate with clients on project status to keep client appraised on progress
- Facilitate formation, management and output of standards development committees and working groups
- Collaborate with various SCS Global Services teams and other external technical experts on standard and program development
- Auditing Certification Bodies against relevant standards
- Administrative support, as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or
- 10+ years of relevant experience and
- 2-4 years of professional work experience and
- experience working with best practice standards development processes
- Knowledge in best practice standards development processes
- Ability to engage and understand the needs of key stakeholders
- A strong track record of effectively managing complex projects
- Ability to work with limited technical knowledge on a wide range of topics (e.g., natural resource extraction, chain of custody, manufacturing, agriculture)
- Fluent in English and experience that involves professional written and verbal communication (Advanced proficiency)
- Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills (Advanced proficiency)
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Ability to adapt to different work styles and changing situations
- Strong customer service and teamwork orientation
- Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel and database management
- Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment

Working Remotely
SCS is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce. This is a home-office based role and may include travel with local, domestic, and/or international trips. Details will be clarified during the recruitment process.
Estimated Annual Salary
$61,000 - $83,000 - Exempt
