As a recognized leader in providing Private Markets Solutions to clients across the globe we manage approximately $120.2 billion in discretionary assets and have oversight of an additional $782.9 in non-discretionary assets as of December 31, 2023.

The Opportunity:

Hamilton Lane is a leading data-driven private markets firm that leverages technology to make data work for our business. We are seeking a talented and motivated VP of Data Intelligence to join our growing team. If you are passionate about transforming data into meaningful business solutions and possess expertise in Azure, SQL, Power BI, and data warehousing we want to hear from you.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead Business Intelligence efforts in Power BI to transform business operations and analytics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Build efficient data models in Power BI that support robust reporting and analytics.
  • Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Power BI reports and dashboards, including troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Train business users on how to leverage the data provided in our data warehouse, data lake, and data marts.
  • Implement and enforce data governance policies to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Your background will include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a data role (Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer).
  • 5+ years of experience with Power BI, including DAX and Power Query
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL or other query languages.
  • 2+ years working with Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Advanced SQL skills for data manipulation and orchestration
  • Experience with data warehousing techniques and star schema data modeling.
  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions, Snowflake or Azure is a plus.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining semantic data models.
  • Experience utilizing SDLC and engineering best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in financial services, Private Markets is a plus.
  • Experience with Python, R, or other scripting language
  • Experience working with Data Engineers
