Position Summary
As the Commercial Claims General Adjuster / Supervisor, you will work closely with the Director of Claims to ensure the timely and effective resolution of claims. You will manage a caseload of large, complex claims and may need to perform onsite inspections. Additionally, you will assist in supervising and mentoring claims handlers, ensuring adherence to coverage, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Claims Oversight: Assist the Director in overseeing claim handlers to ensure timely, effective disposition of claims.
- Claims Handling: Manage a caseload of large and complex claims, including reviewing policy coverage, establishing reserves, and engaging vendors when necessary.
- Onsite Inspections: Travel to loss sites as needed to perform onsite inspections and document findings.
- Compliance & Communication: Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and company procedures, ensuring compliance. Communicate with stakeholders regarding claim status.
- Claim Resolutions: Investigate claims, calculate settlements, and issue payments within authority limits, or seek additional authority as required.
- Litigation Participation: Involvement in claims litigation and resolution of disputes when necessary.
- Training & Mentorship: Mentor junior adjusters and assist the Director in staff oversight and development.
- Vendor & Adjuster Audits: Participate in audits of vendors and adjusters to maintain quality control.
- Special Projects: Assist in special projects and tasks as needed by the Claims Director.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5-7 years of commercial claims handling experience, with 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Licensing: Must maintain adjuster licenses in all states where Frontline does business that require an adjuster license.
- Skills: Strong organizational and task management skills, with proven experience in delivering high-level internal and external customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Information
Supervisory Responsibilities: While claims adjusters do not directly report to this role, you will assist the Director of Claims with staff oversight and serve as a mentor to junior adjusters.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly sit, use hands, and talk or hear. You may occasionally need to stand, walk, lift, and climb. Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This hybrid role includes both office and field/outdoor environments. The noise level is usually moderate.
