Job Title:
Partner Product Engineer

Role Overview:

Do you thrive on collaborating with large partners' engineers and program managers to understand their needs, identify critical patterns, and launch new projects? Do you enjoy solving complex problems across a variety of platforms and environments?

The Partner Product Engineer is part of McAfee's Partner and Platform Group working closely with large OEM partners, with a mission to provide cyber security protection to consumers. We are seeking an experienced professional to drive the execution of this growth strategy, be part of the transformation, and ensure our OEM Channel Partners can collaborate closely with us to expand the market.

This is based in Texas as a remote position. We will only consider candidates currently in Texas and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About the Role: 

This position requires a proactive attitude and a partner-focused growth mindset, being passionate about technology with a strong interest in consumer cybersecurity, privacy & data protection, and innovation driven by OEM partners.

  • Partner Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with Tier 1 OEM partners, addressing both technical and business aspects.

  • Environment Adaptation: Quickly understand partner-specific environments and make recommendations to reduce technical complications.

  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams and agile projects across various sites and geographical locations.

  • Project Management: Plan requirements with both external and internal partners, manage project schedules, and deploy products.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Understand the delivered products at a technical level and work directly with McAfee Engineering to troubleshoot and remediate any issues.

  • Quality Assurance: Define comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases for partner projects and execute those plans to ensure our products meet McAfee’s quality standards.

  • Direct Partner Collaboration: Own and drive meetings, presentations, troubleshooting, and product validation remote or regular onsite at partner locations

  • Process Improvement: Review and provide recommendations to streamline or make existing execution process more efficient.

About You: 

  • 5+ years of partner-facing experience with the ability to form relationships at various levels.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing both executive and individual contributor levels.

  • Thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in software development and quality assurance, primarily for Windows platforms.

  • Understanding of software development principles and methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.

  • Proficiency in software troubleshooting tools such as windbg, ADK, and Fiddler on Windows platforms.

  • Eagerness to learn new products and technologies in a dynamic environment.

  • Creative and logical problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project.

  • Ability to operate autonomously with minimal supervision.

  • Experience in multi-lingual and cross-cultural work environments.

  • Preferred to have familiarity with McAfee products and services.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Experience working with global strategic partners.
