Our Equestrian Center is a world-class facility dedicated to equestrian education and excellence. We serve students, employees, the college community, and outside equestrians. Our mission is to be a nationally renowned, self-sustaining center that fosters superior horsemanship, emphasizing respect, kindness, self-discipline, athletic excellence, responsibility, and sportsmanship.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader to shape the future of equestrian education and manage a dynamic team of professionals. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity.

Salary Range: Starting at $96,970, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Equestrian Center Management Team
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets
  • Oversee facility operations, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate hiring, training, and evaluation of staff
  • Collaborate on student recruitment efforts
  • Manage school horse selection and care
  • Develop and maintain safety programs for riders and horses
  • Oversee facility maintenance and improvements
  • Coordinate promotional activities and events
  • Collaborate on fundraising initiatives
  • Teach riding classes as part of the physical education program
  • Handle on-call duties for equine emergencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum 3 years of direct management experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the equine industry
  • Proven familiarity with multiple riding disciplines (hunter seat equitation, jumpers, dressage, 3-day eventing, western)
  • Demonstrated budget management skills
  • Experience in a collegiate equestrian setting preferred
  • Strong horse care experience, preferably at a national or international level

Required Certifications

  • CPR/AED certification
  • Valid driver’s license
  • State Riding Instructor’s License

Working Conditions

  • Night and weekend work required
  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions
  • On-call responsibilities

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work with large animals in various environments
  • Occasional need to lift heavy items (up to 55 pounds) and operate equipment
