We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong background in accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of accounting experience and be proficient in month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. Must have experience with Sage. This position is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
Responsible to deploy accounting software, set up chart of accounts and financial statement reporting
Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows and Equity Statement, for multiple interrelated entities
Support month-end and year-end close process
Coordinating activities of external auditors and advisors such as tax advisors
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable
Coordinating with outsourced Payroll and Project Accounting
Skills & Requirements
Education / Experience
Minimum of seven years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Public accounting experience is preferred
Specific Skills / Abilities
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Extensive Excel skills
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Experience with Sage Intacct is a benefit, experience with other corporate accounting systems
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
