Department Overview
As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
Position Summary
Drives automated and manual testing including white (unit) and black box testing, build acceptance, integration, regression, functional and performance testing for a Pension Administration System. Experience allows for a quick identification of the best way to test a feature. Plans and implements automated tests (unit, integration, API, GUI) vertically across test pyramid that compliments each other. Sets up and configures tools/infrastructures that support test automation. Champions QA test automation risk assessments and best practice techniques.
Key Responsibilities
40% Automated and Manual product testing including smoke, functional, regression, system integration/acceptance (end-to-end), load, performance, security. Track defects and test cases via testing tools like Jira.
30% Designing, implementing, and running automation architectures and processes using a variety of tools. Creating automated test scripts that exercise web services and API’s.
20% Translate requirement specifications and customer usage of products and cross-functional dependencies of components into effective Test Plans & Test Cases. Reporting defects and verifying bug fixes and new features. Communicating issue status and risks. Participating on scrum teams.
10% Defining the best areas to automate to ensure appropriate test coverage. Analyze requests for new software upgrades and enhancements and guide the migration of updated software from testing environments to production.
Experience

- Min 5 years of related IT work experience.
Skills And Abilities
Required Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of the design, development, and analysis of software including in-depth skills associated with testing, implementation, and analysis.
- Understands compliance requirements for applicable industry or agency standards.
- Knowledge of the ISO standards and the Compatibility Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) model
- Ability to create and track the release improvement process to be applied across all IT domains.
- Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Self-motivated, ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, works independently and as part of a team and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the use of automated test tools, including skills to write and perform automated QA testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of departmental processes and procedures.
- Experience initiating new projects related to release management.
- Experience with Pension Administration Software.

It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
