Mortgage Loan Processor

Contemporary Staffing Solutions (CSS) is seeking a Loan Processor to join our client for a remote opportunity! The Loan Processor is responsible for managing and processing loan applications in compliance with mortgage lending guidelines and investor requirements. This position involves analyzing loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, reviewing documentation, and coordinating with various parties to ensure a smooth and timely loan process from application through closing. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers $25/hour + an incentive plan!

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze loan applications to determine creditworthiness and ability to repay.
• Review Automated Underwriting System (AUS) findings, guidelines, and sales structures to ensure loans comply with applicable standards.
• Coordinate the collection of necessary documentation, including credit reports, title commitments, insurance policies, and other third-party verifications.
• Monitor the loan process to ensure timely completion and manage borrower and sales team expectations through closing.
• Review and validate the accuracy and completeness of the 1003 loan application and Loan Origination System data.
• Communicate regularly with borrowers to obtain outstanding documents and provide status updates.
• Manage pipeline of loans to ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and monthly funding goals.
• Run AUS engines (DU/LP) and compliance checks to confirm loan qualifications and compliance at the time of submission.
• Escalate issues such as loan qualification problems or required restructures through appropriate channels.
• Submit files for underwriting review when all borrower documentation, title, appraisal, and credit information is complete.
• Maintain accurate records of loan status, including new applications, approvals, cancellations, and denials.
• Provide feedback on loan quality to loan advisors as necessary.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in mortgage loan processing or a similar position handling full documentation loans.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with borrowers, sales teams, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously.
• Knowledge of mortgage processing guidelines, underwriting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with Loan Origination Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
