Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in related field and two years related experience. Must possess sufficient educational background and experience to begin clinical applications analysis, support, and/or programming. An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with an Electronic Health Record System is a positive attribute along with PC hardware/software knowledge.
- Experience working in an IT Helpdesk environment utilizing remote support tools and a ticketing system.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing support and implementing technology solutions to resolve
problems with the EHR and other clinical products and applications. Clinical applications include any
software application used in support of the clinical enterprise including patient registration, patient billing,
clinical documentation utilized in the ambulatory and inpatient settings, as well as applications for specific
medical specialties such as, but not limited to, Radiology, Pathology, Oncology, Transplant, and
Cardiology. This position is also responsible for modifying clinical applications/programs from detailed
specifications. Assists in providing solutions to routine problems utilizing more efficient operational
procedures, workflows, and information technology solutions.
Job Duties:
- Provide end user support for the UTMB Electronic Medical Record System and other clinical systems on a 24/7 basis.
- Respond to end user support assistance for the UTMB Electronic Medical Record System via telephone, system shadowing application, or onsite at clinics or hospitals.
- Assist end users with optimizing system functionality onsite in clinics and hospitals.
- Assist in classroom setting as proctor or instructor.
- Assist analysts with application and printer testing.
- Assist with end user support onsite for rollout and implementations delegated by leadership.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to self-motivate, prioritize work, and lead as well as work within a team.
- Efficiently function in face-to-face communication or virtual environments with medical personnel.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of computers and office applications.
- Understanding of medical workflows and terminology.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work productively remotely when needed.
- Able to walk long distances between and within buildings.
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
On-site, Monday through Friday/Partial Remote, 8am to 5pm, rotating 8 hour shifts as well as rotating on call support (nights, weekends, holidays as needed).
