Key Responsibilities:

Advisory & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, including those related to hiring practices, contracts, employee benefits, and terminations.
  • Develop and implement global employment policies aligned with international labor standards.
  • Assist in labor relations and work counsel/union negotiations across different countries.

Cross-Border Employment Management:

  • Advise on vendor management, including leased workers, visa, and immigration issues.
  • Address employment issues related to mergers, acquisitions, and business restructurings.

Dispute Resolution:

  • Manage international employment disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
  • Handle cases related to wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and other employment-related claims.

Legal Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough research on international labor laws and monitor changes that impact the company.
  • Provide regular updates and training on global employment law trends and developments.

Contract Drafting & Negotiation:

  • Draft and review employment contracts, severance agreements, and related legal documents to ensure compliance with local and international laws.
  • Negotiate terms of employment, including non-compete clauses, confidentiality agreements, and dispute resolution mechanisms.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary legal contact for Human Resources.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering strategic advice and proactive legal solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in employment law, with at least 3 years focused on international matters.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience working with multinational corporations or global law firms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
