Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager, Electrical Wiring Devices to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Pass & Seymour Team in Syracuse, NY or Remotely. The Product Manager will be jointly responsible for the development and execution of key growth strategies in collaboration with the Product Management team. Specific activities for this role include market analysis, competitive analysis, voice of the customer, business strategy, segmentation and positioning, business case development, product roadmap, marketing strategy, go-to-market strategy, and sales support/execution. Preferred candidate will reside in Syracuse, NY. Remote candidates will be considered for this role.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Develops and maintains detailed market analysis (size, share, segmentation, trends) for core markets.
  • Identifies opportunities (new markets, product categories, channels) for growth across the Pass & Seymour Wiring Device business and works with the Product Management team to develop strategies for success.
  • Identifies growth trends and opportunities through data analysis, field research, trade events, and via collaboration with Legrand colleagues.
  • Works cross-functionally to develop business plan required for execution, including channel and marketing strategy, resource planning, new product development roadmap, and operational plan/support.
  • Supports regular business processes including (new product development, long-range planning, and budgeting) and meetings associated with those.
  • Supports Legrand key growth strategies of IoT, Sustainability, and Digital.
  • Supports key events such as trade shows and National Sales Meeting.
  • Participates in sales and marketing collateral development including catalogs, sell sheets, product bulletins & promotional campaigns with sales & marcom team, product launches.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • BS in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related degree.
  • MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in product management, strategy, and/or product marketing roles.
  • Specific electrical or electrical industry knowledge a plus.
  • Specific knowledge or experience working with technical products, specifically IoT products and Smart Lighting a plus.
  • Specific knowledge or experience working with technical products, specifically IoT products and typical communication protocols such as Zigbee, ZWave or Wi-Fi.
  • Knowledge or experience working with smart lighting controls a plus.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines, and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, e-mail, and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to triangulate actionable conclusions from large data sets.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer’s needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment. Ability to lead cross-functional teams. Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers, and all business partners.
  • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
