Job Description

The Inventory Liquidation Account Manager is a key position reporting to the VP, Commercial – E-Commerce and is responsible for managing and executing the liquidation process of excess, obsolete, or slow-moving inventory. This role involves identifying liquidation opportunities, developing strategies for efficient disposal, and coordinating with various departments to ensure optimal outcomes. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and a strong understanding of inventory management principles. 

Responsibilities

  • Assess inventory levels to identify excess, obsolete, or slow-moving items
  • Develop and implement effective liquidation strategies to maximize recovery value
  • Collaborate with the procurement, sales, and finance departments to coordinate liquidation efforts
  • Negotiate with liquidators, wholesalers, and other third-party buyers to achieve favorable terms
  • Manage the logistics and documentation associated with inventory liquidation
  • Monitor market trends and adjust liquidation strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records of liquidation activities and provide regular reports to management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations during the liquidation process
  • Conduct periodic audits of inventory to verify the accuracy of records and identify potential issues
  • Provide recommendations for improving inventory turnover and reducing excess inventory

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management, liquidation, or a similar role
  • Familiarity with E-Commerce and online liquidation platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of market trends and industry best practices in inventory liquidation
