Job Description

Overview

As the Distribution Account Manager you will enjoy fueling sales growth and market expansion for INFICON in the Americas with our distribution partners in the areas of instrumentation, critical sensor technologies, and Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 software solutions that enhance productivity and quality of tools, processes, and complete factories.

The distribution account manager will have accountability for professionally managing the Americas distribution partners by developing and executing detailed plans that will enable scale.  This role will facilitate and maintain successful relationships with our distribution partners  which will be measured by increased revenue performance and customer base. 

What you will do

  • Strategically plan and implement strategy and sales goals for the distribution partners to enable revenue & customer growth
  • Make recommendations to the Segment Managers regarding annual sales goals
  • Submit forecasts, monthly reports, distributor account plans, and any other requested information
  • Provide Business Units with feedback on competitive products, market trends, and application needs
  • Assist with product line recommendations, pricing adjustments, and sales policy changes
  • Support the development of territory sales and marketing plans
  • Offer marketing assistance to the Business Line
  • Support marketing activities in conjunction with our channel partners including trade shows, strategic industry committees, and marketing campaigns

Qualifications
  • 4 years technical degree (Engineering, Chemistry, Physics)
  • Understanding of the distribution channel and the value they bring
  • 3-5 years of account management experience selling to scientific industries
  • Consultative:  Ability to identify areas of concern in customer manufacturing sites where our product portfolio can offer effective resolutions
  • Challenger sales acumen; value selling competency
  • Persistent, winning mentality
  • Skilled in conveying strategic plans with a deep understanding of key account stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills and a solid grasp of our products and their potential applications
  • Versed in software tools, encompassing CRM and MS Office applications
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Proficient in project tracking to proactively tackle potential challenges
  • Must have the ability to work independently, travel to distributor and customer sites (20-30% of the time), and possess strong customer engagement skills

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 to $135,000 per year with commission opportunities. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 5%.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
