Position Overview: The Director of Brand Marketing will be a key leader in shaping and executing our brand strategy and will oversee the management of PR, events, and adaptive. The position reports to the Senior Director, Creative Strategy, and is tasked with clearly defining Zappos’s brand pillars in order to drive brand awareness, engagement, and growth. The ideal candidate will be able to turn Zappos culture and product assortment into strong positioning that brings Zappos to life for customers in a consistent, coherent, lively way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies, positioning, and messaging that align with Zappos personality, business objectives, and market opportunities.
  • Manage the in-house team and the agency responsible for PR and earned media. Help set PR strategy to build buzz and awareness for Zappos, and bring in new customers. 
  • Manage the in-house team responsible for the execution of brand-related events, including sponsorships and partnerships. 
  • Manage the in-house team responsible for Zappos’s commitment to and support of the adaptive community. 
  • Oversee the brand marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Provide exciting executions for our vendor partnerships team to bring to our partner brands

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in brand marketing, with a focus on eCommerce and retail.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful brand strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong experience in PR, event management, adaptive marketing, and content marketing.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This role is open to candidates physically located in the following metropolitan statistical areas: Las Vegas, NV; New York, NY; and Seattle, WA.

Candidates who are not physically located in one of these areas may not be considered for this role.The base pay range for this position is $203,000 - 235,500 per year ; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, a full range of medical and other benefits is offered.
