Description

As Legal and Judicial agencies transition to a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions is at the forefront of providing transcription services across various industries. We are seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contractors with significant expertise in transcribing depositions and hearings. This position is fully remote for Independent Contractors.

The content covered includes depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings, requiring intense attention to detail in discerning talks, familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar. You will process audio recordings while strictly adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to set your own schedule and receive support from our dedicated, in-office team as needed. Opportunities to work are available 24/7/365, and those with weekend availability are encouraged to apply.

Skill Requirements

  • Experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides
  • Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar
  • Ability to collaborate remotely
  • Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy
  • Capability to process extreme audio/text content (content may be offensive)
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Familiarity with legal terminology
  • Court reporting students will also be considered
  • This opportunity is not currently available to residents of Massachusetts or California
