Description

As Legal and Judicial agencies transition to a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions stands out as a leader in providing transcription services across various industries. We are currently seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract candidates who have substantial experience in transcribing depositions and hearings. This opportunity is fully remote and designed for Independent Contractors.

In this role, you will cover a range of content including depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. A keen attention to detail and familiarity with legal terminology is crucial as you will be processing audio recordings to produce verbatim transcripts while strictly adhering to style guides.

Skills Requirements

Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription required.
Excellent listening skills.
Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides.
Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
Ability to collaborate remotely.
Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy.
Ability to process extreme audio/text content (may be offensive).
Ability to pass a background check.
Familiarity with legal terminology.
Court reporting students will also be considered.
Currently, this opportunity is not available to residents of Massachusetts or California.

Equipment Requirements

High-speed internet.
Computer or laptop.
Noise-canceling quality headphones.
Windows 10 (to check, press Windows logo key + R, type: winver, then select OK).
Antivirus program with daily virus definition updates (except Webroot antivirus).
Infinity foot pedal (highly recommended).
Work with Microsoft Word.
